Wonder if anyone can give some advice. I normally stream all my content through my PS3 and usually works fine, but I can't seem to stream any 3D movies.

Either they don't stream at all, or they stream but splutter and die shortly after starting.

I know there is a issue with MKV files, but it seems like my PS3 can play them, just not well. I have even plugged the PS3 into my router.

Was thinking of maybe getting an Apple TV, but then again they don't play MKVs either. What to do.

Just buy a Samsung BluRay player. Will cost you about R800 and you'll be able to stream whatever you want.

Full Side by Side 3D resolution (3840x1080) isn't supported by DLNA so you won't get those to stream unfortunately. Half-SBS and OU should work though, but if it needs to be transcoded first your PC might be struggling.

I use mkv2vob to rumux the mkv's then save them directly to the PS3's hard drive using HTTP File Server. Just make sure the file extension has the right mime type.

Yea, I have the same problem with Plex. I stream all my 3d via my old PlayonHD

Yeah, PlayOn works but any full SBS is transcoded and ends up squashed. Only get Half-SBS if you go that route.

Aparently the new Mede8er and Playon support full 3d. I may upgrade to one of those if I nothing better comes along.

The new mede8er looks really good, tho I still have to investigate the Roku.
