Hi All,

I recently upgraded to Win 7 Pro from XP Pro. Can't seem to sync my Bold 9700 to Outlook anymore. Used to work fine on XP Pro. Using version 5 of the BB Desktop Manager.

Whenever I try to sync, I get an error message stating that I must be connected to the internet. The PC is definitely connected to the internet.

This is at work, so not sure if it's something to do with the proxy servers or firewalls. Also couldnt find any setting in the Desktop Manager where I could change the proxy settings.

Any ideas?

I have the same error, and it's because of the stupid proxy. It still syncs with Outlook though (in my case, just reconciliation because I'm on the cmpany BES server).

Thought it might have to do with the proxies...seems to be something with v5 where it requires an internet connection 2 sync. But the strange thing is that another colleague has the same version installed on his Vista machine, and that syncs fine.

So I figured it must be something on Win7 that's blocking the connection. Haven't found out where on Win7, but I'll keep on trying.

Thx

Yep...got the latest version. Tried downloading an older version which didn't require the internet connection, but still no luck. The older versions (v4) doesn't work on Win7.

Thanks anyway.

I hate apps that insist on connecting to the Internet, unfortunately yes desktop manager insists on having an internet connection and it's stupid to do that when all you want to do is sync your phone. But naturally because the software is written in the US they just assume that everybody automatically has an internet connection.
