can you rollback your drivers? I had a similar problem with my Nvidia drivers .... a rollback fixed it all up. Sorry can't be much more help.

You can also try switching the display settings under VLC. There are a couple...hardware accelerated/DX and some others....maybe one works. Fixing the actual problem would be better though.

Best is to roll back to before you installed the CCC and see if it is related. I ALSO HAD ISSUES INSTALLING upgrading CCC. It worked but I had other problems. Then I uninstalled all ATI drivers with CCleaner and then CCC would not install and work. Just rolled back to previous date

Reason why media player do not work could be because of overwritten files or incompatible version files. You have to re-install WMP again, also other software and drivers may have to be updated. I upgraded WMP 11 and IE7 to make sure it works. Other programs and codecs like VLC will possibly have to be reinstalled again. It is the same when you repair/restore and XP system, many updates could be lost and have to be reinstalled.

Edit:. Oh Yeah forgot to mention, also update . net frame work to 3.5 and 3.5sp1
