TelkomInternet spokesperson Sharon de Lines today announced that TelkomInternet would be charging clients for cap overruns at R95 per gigabyte. "Clients have had plenty of warning not to exceed their 3Gb cap, and have all been informed of the new charges." she said. TelkomInternet is expecting a certain amount of dissatisfaction, as this is the first time such charges would be levied, but if the money is owed, it would have to be paid, she added.

If the customer has not paid any amounts due to Telkom for the service, Telkom may also suspend any other service provided to the customer.

"It is, with respect, selfevident that if the cap is exceeded, it is blatant abuse of the facility." she said.

Called for comment, consumer spokesperson Mona Allday said that this action might result in some protests, but would probably be accepted by most South Africans in the end, as it is for the good of the country.

This is a JOKE! Please do NOT take seriously.

But imagine if it were true..........

How would it feel??????

PS If you didn't geddit the first time - THIS IS NOT TRUE!

OMG!! i almost  man i'm sure the people who took telkom internet accounts to the max would get a shock.

I got a friend who has done over 160gigs so far this month. He would be in a WORLD of trouble! hehehe

"for the good of the country"

Gee! that's funny! My favourite line is "for the good of the country." That is such a typical-Telkom comment. You have hit it right on the money, Jabulani :D :D

B.

P.S. I do get that it's a joke, btw.

What I dont understand then, if Telkom is allowing this then why are they so hard done by with the 30gig caps. They were complianing that 4% are using 50% of the network, but yet they allow this.

If 4 percent of the users are using 50% of the network, then they must have an extremely crap network.

You mean the stink bomb I triggered in Telkom Towers was for nothing? :D

Shoulda changed the note to complain about pricing then...
