I was a bit over my cap quite early this month (2GB account) but still had connectivity (like most times I go over a bit).

Strange thing, my cap seemed to reset around the 20th this month (it usually resets right at the end of the month).

Now my question is, should I go crazy and use up the nearly 2GB I have to burn in the next two or so days, or had they somehow decided that the new month starts now?

I somehow can't believe that I'm really that lucky . . .

This is waaay wierd. The stats on their usage portal is as follows:

Downloaded : 2.2629 GB
Uploaded : 197.1169 MB
Total Bandwidth used : 2.4554 GB
Total Usage for February : 186.1603 MB

Huh?? Since when does 186MB equal 2.5GB. (Local bandwith by the way has all values at zero).

Also got all excited when I got my weekly ADSL usage e-mail on Monday especially since as of the previous week I had already used 95% of my cap

Dear subscriber

A friendly notification that according to our records your online usage as at [2008-2-25 00:00:01] reflected the following:

Username :
Uploaded : 30MB or [0.02GB]
Downloaded : 322MB or [0.31GB]
Combined Total : 352MB or [0.34GB]
Service threshold : 3.00GB
Percentage used : 11.48%

Sadly when I checked just now they had rectified their mistake

*sigh* :(

So my advice is check again before you go nuts with that 'extra' bandwidth

Well, I am over by 400MB ish anyway. I will go nuts anyway and use my Engen account to fill the last two days if it finally dies on me. :D

My usage stats are also fong kong this morning. I received a CAP status email saying I am on 101% of my 1GB which is rubbish because i was at 34% yesterday morning.

So lI logged into the usage tracker and this is what is says:

UPLOADED: 52MB
Downloaded: 321MB
Total Usage for February: 1.19GB

I mean WTF? Clearly their system is fong kong again...... I have logged a fault with Telkom. I am still surfing international on that account no problem!

Good luck ; let us know if you get stung for a massive bill

Well, I pay for 2GB every month. It's up to them to cap me and make sure I don't go over. They have no grounds to ever charge me more.

But, being Telkom, I won't be surprised if they try...
