Cap Rollover?

Well Web Africa offers your standard 3Gb account, then you buy prepaid Gbs and any data not used of that prepaid data gets transferred to the next month, as far as I understand it.

@dna

I had exactly the same question, and asked webafrica ...

They said that although you buy in gbs they track the amount to rollover in bytes ..

I even used the same example that you used ... (ie 900mb left of 1gb)

And it rolls over indefinantly ...

Imaginet has a slightly different approach but works just as well ..

That is because the top-up's are charged at near per-gig billing prices, whereas the fixed package accounts are offered at sub-per-gig-billing prices. It is not feasable to expect an ISP to let a customer carry over unused bandwidth that was sold at below cost...

Web Africa 3GB = R199 (R66.33 per GB) and their 1GB Prepaid with carry-over is R75 per GB. I would much rather pay R10 per GB more and know whatever I don't use will be available next month. Makes sense to me.

Do you think Webafrica could get clever and let you buy both shaped and unshaped bandwidth? The unshaped price isn't that expensive so what I would like to do is have 2gb shaped for browsing, email and other in any case unshaped services and 1,2 or more gigs unshaped for downloading (p2p), skype,vpn whatever.
So could this be possible, that they just let you have 2gigs of unshaped bandiwdth when using shaped protocols , I'm shure it would be too hard for them to make work properly, but would be nice. Can probably just buy two accounts i geuss....
