Sorry - but wouldn't the power sent to Namibia be able to tide us over?

Cape blackouts hit Namibia

March 1, 2006

The recurring power outages in the Cape are also hitting Namibia, which relies heavily on Eskom for its electricity.

A major power outage in the Western Cape left all of Namibia without electricity for about two hours early yesterday. Namibia's power utility, NamPower, said in a statement that the outage which plunged the country into darkness was the result of faults in the transmission line from the Western Cape, which supplies Namibia.

It expressed concern that Eskom's power supply problems might force Nampower to "loadshed" - to rotate power among different areas during peak hours. - Foreign Service
