Anyone in the Claremont/Kenilworth area with massive ping problems? Thought it was VOX so switched to my Afrihost account and same story. 200 ms locally and 300 ms to UK.
Anyone else still suffering from this ?
Both my VOX and WA accounts have been intermittently crawling.
Netflix usually maxes out at 4k resolution around 11-15mbps, now down to max of 4mbps and 1080p.
Was like this on Friday afternoon, then fine on Friday evening.
Same story Saturday and today so time is not "congestion hour".
My Pingplotter says everything is fine into and out of Cape Town so I'm leaning towards a problem on the international breakout leg, assuming VOX and WA share the same backbone provider on that leg.
Kodi streaming also affected, but local is fine.
Same here on WA and ISAnyone in the Claremont/Kenilworth area with massive ping problems? Thought it was VOX so switched to my Afrihost account and same story. 200 ms locally and 300 ms to UK.

I won't hold my breath.Thought I was going mad.
Guess we are not alone.
I hope somewhere someone is monitoring this clustertruck unfold and trying to fix it.
Your own router is dropping 20% of the packets?
Been checking this to see if it is a router issue - however, it seems when I ping just my router I get no packet loss. I think the packet loss is happening on the second hop, which would be ISP - as ISP servers refuse pings it just seems to be allocated to somewhere between the two valid pings.

Getting big jitter on Cape Town speed test.
Latency still terrible this evening. Sites timing out. Can barely log into gaming accounts, let alone play.
ping bras.afrihost.com while pinging your router as well.
bras.afrihost.com is the exchange.
But that ping is happening at the router according to that graph. Do be sure to check that nothing is uploading at that time as well (some automated back-up running on someone's phone?), on ADSL if anything uploads at ~90%+ of upload, your download will die/have dropped packets.

The two are concurrent, which should mean this isn't a router issue I think?
