Hey hey,

I just upgraded to ADSL384 finally and am a bit curious about the performance I'm getting. Downloads are great at about 50k on average, but my local pings to the SAIX Gaming Service servers are rather erratic and quite similar to ISDN.

I'm getting 50-70ms out of game and usually 60-80ms in game. Is this normal?

My 3rd hop is tpr-ip-esr-1-ge-6-0-0.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.10.86] which averages 45ms... EEEK! Before that I'm sitting on 13-16ms. Routing problem? Just distance against me?

I'm using the Telkom USB Pots under Windows XP (updated marconi drivers for SP2)... problem? I'm not really looking to network, so added functionality is lost on me and therefore not a consideration when buying. Ping is a huge consideration however.

Any indication of relative service received or possible help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You getting 50KB/s on 384? Hows that possible?

I ran for over 6 (six) weeks getting 50K on 384K package. It pissed off a few buddies on 512 package, but someone noticed and now am at 40K

njoy while it lasts
