Cape Town - A live juvenile humpback whale is stranded at Sandy Bay, the City of Cape Town said on Sunday.

Whale beaches itself and journalist calls it juvenile. Insult to injury.

Well I am just glad they towed the carcass away, it's my favorite surf beach and I for one would not want a carcass there to attract sharks (even though the seals run rings around me there).

Surf will be good there in a day or two, glad the specialists did so well, pretty sad affair though. Last time I saw this was on Long Beach Kommetjie, but then it was about 25-30 small whales, think they where pilot whales. Marine guys told me one had a broken jaw, could have been the alfa, that then lead the pod onto the beach.
