Cape Town Council "circus"

I'm wondering if there is any country in the world where politics is not dirty!

Nope dont think so, that would utterly destroy the whole meaning and motivation behind politics

would they first not have to COMPLETE a thorough investigation before a formal charge could be laid with the necassary authorities? No good getting court time and it gets thrown out due to a technicality or sumting along those lines.

True, but this has been going on for a while now, and both parties claim to have the unrefutable evidance, so I struggle to see why a charge is not laid.

In terms of 'unrefutable evidance' - what else do you expect them to say?

dotting the i's and crossing the t's, takes time. Plus, one other thought, this could form part of an even bigger investigation, they could be trying to weed out the weak hands...

Believe it or not murders and assassinations are usually not part of politics... except in places like Zimbabwe and... south africa.

In her opening speech, Zille also mentioned the recent fatal attack on two of councillor Xokani Sotashe's bodyguards.

A disreputable politician is worth more to the opposition in the arena than in jail. If one has to go, a cleaner one replaces him/her.
