Hi all,

Could anyone advise me on a solid property manager in Cape Town? (Southern Suburbs) Which of the ones around should I avoid?

Thanks!

What do you need to do? I'm getting into property development and management. Maybe we can help each other.

Thank you for the offer, although I am in need of a professional service for the time being.

Have a chat with the rentals division of the big estate agents like Greeff or Pam Golding. They should be able to refer reputable managers

Thank you.. Do you have any experience with Permanent Trust?

I am currently renting a flat that is managed by them. We own property management software that the majority of these companies use, however, don't really deal with them from an operational point of view. If you want you can have a look at our client list on our website for some more ideas? :)

I used de Kock Estates for my investment property in Fish Hoek. They have a separate Rental and Management Department. They manage single units to whole complexes.
They find tenants for you and kick them out if they don't pay. It is in their interest to do so as the tenants pay the rent to them and deduct their management fee before they deposit it into your accountant.

I thought buying property was a waste of time, Marco?

Have you had any issues with them? Most of the companies I have contacted charge between 11 & 12,5% excl VAT commission. That is quite steep, no?
