Cape Town Wireless Internet - Southern Suburbs

@Nicok87 - CTWUG dont do internet - EDIT: I see you have a node in Wind...you gonna connect soon?

@Broadone - Im in Harfield and use Amobia. Their antennas are on the light for Newlands Cricket ground.

HI MDE - just thought i would mention ctwug as i used to be connected, and it solve almost all my internet needs!
When I was connected, I heard that one can "connect" to someone else´s Internet via the ctwug link. So that may be an option.

@Nicok87 - It can be done, but technically it shouldn't as CTWUG is a non profit organisation. But I suppose if the person is ot charging for the internet usage then there is no contravention. hmmm

Yea I know that. Wish I was still connected...miss it very much! :)

We do not have coverage in the southern suburbs at the moment, but that may be changing during 2014 as we are currently negotiating leases on several new sites between Newlands and Fish Hoek.

Morning.

I'm looking for a provider (besides Telkom or mweb) that offers wireless internet in Cape Town, southern suburbs area.
This will be for home use, so an uncapped connection is fine.

I've already submitted a request to WAPA and await a response - http://www.wapa.org.za/coverage/request/
(And Sonic Wireless is just outside my coverage area).

Maybe you have some suggestions? Thanks.

What is your price range?

And we would not like to be branded as an alternative for internet access... its not what we do or are here for. ( it attracts people with ulterior motives as well as raises suspicions as to the legality of our operations ). It's against our constitution and is therefore downright forbidden.

Technically or not, we do not want to be associated with providing internet or allowing the sharing thereof for reasons above.

Sprintnet, formerly Kawuleza.

I'm now with Sprintnet after they took over Kawuleza. Their network is great, but they are way overpriced. If I wasn't on the original Kawuleza prices I would not use them.
