I've recently bought one of these

cape union mart drake down jacket.

I've seen lots of people wearing them. Now the jacket is great, warm and lightweight, but I see small bits of down poking out at the seams of the jacket . Every now and then a small feather floats out when i sit down hard.

Is this normal? has anyone else experienced this? Or is my jacket defective?

I had the same thing. I took it in for them to look at and they said that they account for 10% of the feathers to fall out and that if they poke through that you should just push them back in.

A friend of mine however took it in and they replaced it for her, so not sure.

Are you a magician? You should really remove your doves from the hidden compartment before sitting down. :D

But seriously, I can't help, don't own one of these. Sounds like a flaw in the jacket.

We have 3 of them and they all do that.
It's the exact same thing with a down duvet....feathers somehow manage to get through.

I think it happens with all down items. My down sleeping bag is over ten years old. Did this a lot at first, the rate of feather loss slows over time.

The same way teen pregnancies drop drastically after the age of 20? ;-)

No my sleeping bag is not pregnant. It hasn't slept with anyone besides me.

I have a down jacket. Different brand to K-way.
It's normal for feathers to leak out

Ok I have the jacket for a while now. And it's still warm and great. But still getting feathers leaking out everyday. Doesn't seem to affect the puffiness or warmth but this doesn't seem normal

Thats one of my sleeves of the sweater under the jacket when I wore it yesterday. It's covered in tiny feathersIMG_20180616_085601.jpeg
