Hi can anyone please help?

https://www.capitecbank.co.za/bankbetterlivebetter/articles/takealot-more-with-capitec-masterpass

This site states that if using a Capitec master pass, then on the next order can get R300 off, although I am still having an issue. I have visited the Capitec bank numerous on occasions, they removed my card, then i later uninstall it and reinstall it, but it still does not process the order. I always get a "FAILED". I tried purchasing something on Takealot hoping to get a R300 off on my next order but my current order on takealot is failing. I have tried to scan and also enter the code.

Does anyone has any solutions? or is Capitec just trying to trick people?

I've stopped trying to buy from Takealot using Capitec Masterpass .
I always get the "Failed" error.
According to Capitec it should work !!

Is your card activated for online purchases?

I would assume so, else they would be acutely aware that there's a non-Takealot issue as the card wouldn't work anywhere online.

Capitec's cards are a steaming load of bs. They block recurring transactions, which also prevents a bunch of non-recurring transactions going through as they are sometimes tagged that way based on the typical nature of a particular online store (one-off purchases a minority of their products for example). But then many services are individually approved, such as Netflix, Google, Apple, DStv etc. or not affected due to how they configure their charges. It's arbitrary and dumb as s**t, and the main reason I ditched Capitec for FNB. Never had an issue again with my card after that.

I would assume so...

Don't assume so. I also had this issue and then I went on to their site, did some searching, and I realised my Capitec card was not activated for online shopping (two-factor authentication). I had to activate it on the Capitec app, then visit the Mastercard website to confirm. After that I got my R300 voucher when I used it as promised.

This is the same with many other cards, I remembered after this, that I had to do the same with my Nedbank MasterCard many many years ago. The odd thing is, it seems to be website dependent. For example, when I use Takelot I have to authorise the purchase via a pop-up on my phone, but not when I use Aliexpress. So it is a weak system but that is MasterCard's issue not just Capitec.
