Anyone know if it's possible to use two different Capitec accounts on the same device (dual sim)? If so, how?

I would assume you can you just sign in with other details, I do this for all my multiple bank accounts, FNB, Mercantile Bank, Standard Bank etc

I haven't tried it, but I have used Capitec app on a dual sim phone. The issue you're going to run into is, when you first sign into the app, the app sends an SMS to some Capitec number as part of the initial handshake. You have no control over which number that's going to come from, and Capitec will reject it if it's not the number tied to your account.

Maybe this will work if you set the default line before you sign up, but you're going to have to do this every time you change which account you log into.

Nonissue, my capitec app runs on another phone, and I have always just forwarded the SMS I get from capitec to my 'registered number' to my capitec device's number.

I did not talk about receiving and SMS - that would be a non-issue on a dual sim. I specifically mentioned the app sending and SMS. I ran into this problem because I live overseas and the SMS did not go through. I ended up having to get a hardware token.

I just did it the other day. The app on my backup phone did not send an SMS, from what I can tell at least, I just got the SMS on my registered number, and then forwarded the <#> Capitec: 7234697329384uTWi..................................piowuerm+DY sms to that backup device without any issues.

It's possible things have changed in the last 2 years. Either way, I checked my e-mail correspondence at the time. The issue started when I got a new phone. I had set it up on the old phone when I opened the account while visiting SA. The app sent an activation e-mail to the number 30857 (which is a free local number and cannot be routed internationally), with the following text:

Capitec activation:<36 character hex string>

The SMS showed up in the SMS app. When this failed, Capitec sent me the following steps:

1. Open the Remote Banking App
2. Enter the Username and PIN, then proceed
3. Copy the text that is on the SMS screen- it will look something like: “Capitec activation: xxxxxxxxxxxxx”
4. Create a new SMS and paste the text copied previously as the SMS body
5. Send the new to the relevant number below (this depends on the network carrier that is used for roaming overseas)

• Vodacom - 278200506030007
• MTN - 2783920660000009
• Cell C - 27840030857
• 8ta - 2781160001630857

6. Go back to the Remote Banking App, there should be a banner stating ‘Activating’.

This did not work, because, you know, international SMS routing can be flaky. All that said, if you're in SA and have a dual sim phone, this should work with either number, provided you can set which number the message is sent from. But, you'd still have to do this every time you change account.
