Copy of a letter I sent to Telkom:
To whom it may concern,
My account, user name telkomdsl****@telkomsa.net has been capped, incorrectly.
The ADSL's line telephone number is (011)*********.
Having checked the usage graphs on your website, the usage graph reflects that I have downloaded 7.7984GB on the 19th of April.
Mathematically speaking, with a maximum download speed of 50KB/sec (which the service rarely exceeds), the maximum one can download is 3Mb/min, which equates to 180Mb/Hour, which further equates to 4.32GB/day.
Therefore, mathematically, a maximum of 4.32GB can be downloaded daily, running at a constant 50KB/sec (which NEVER happens!).
Thus, I find it hard to believe that my usage graph reflects that I have downloaded 7.7984GB in one day, because it is mathematically impossible given the capacity of the ADSL line. To have downloaded this much in one day, I would have required a speed of 89,7KBPS, which is impossible.
Either someone has been using my username on another line, or you have a technical problem on your side.
I expect this matter to be resolved promptly.
Regards,
********
