Hia all. Ok I'm capped but struggle opening local sites...
www.ps3za.co.za, www.xbox-360.co.za etc just does not open.
Can any one give me some advise please.

I'm on a supposedly "4Mb" line that just sucks in any case but trying to open these sites, it just times out.

Just because a site ends in .co.za does not mean it is local per se. The server needs to be in South Africa to count as a local server and any sites hosted on that server is then seen as local sites. Even .com sites could be local.

In this case both those sites are hosted outside SA.

Easiest? Get a prepaid local account, and try it :)

Otherwise you can run a traceroute, if one of the hops suddenly goes up by like 200ms, it's probably international.

There should be online tools that can also tell you where sites are hosted. My home pc has a firefox plugin that tells you. Something like flagfox.

If you use FireFox then you can get FlagFox, it's a plugin that shows a flag of the country where the site is hosted :) It looks like (According to the plugin) the PS3 site is in SA but the Xbox360 site is in the USA....

However when I try to load the PS3 site from my local account it doesn't work, lol :o

Ja, FlagFox is the best! :)

This one...

http://www.xbox-360.co.za/

is in the USA... 75.125.38.34

and this one...

http://www.ps3za.co.za/forum/index.php

is in South Africa... 196.220.52.36

but it takes flipping long to load.
