Hi guys

A friend of mine is getting a 10 gig adsl account and wants to share it with the family....6 gigz for work and 1 gig for person etc

He wants to install a simple program on each pc that will show upload/download totals and prevent the pc from accessing the internet once they have used 1 gig...

I have tried netlimiter and it shows the totals but I cannot find a way to disconnect the internet once 1 gig has been used...

PS i;ve tried searching the forum already

thanks alo

it all depends if you are using a gateway between the pc's or adsl router or not. if so, it's relative easy (considering you can set up a gateway). otherwise there are limited options. do you use Linux or Windows (silly question, but it does make a difference). There are several options for Linux, but less options for windows as most of these software available for Windows are not freeware, so they cost money..

They are using windows xp and not linux and the adsl router stores the username and password.....

Have a look at www.soft32.com. They will be your best bet. I know I was in the same situation a while back but maybe there's something better out now.

I cnt download from soft32....whenever I click "download" it comes up with an error......do I have to register?

i've never had problems downloading there. just go to the download tab at the top and it should pop up a download page
