Hi guys

I have a Honda Accord 2009 model.
The aircon worked fine upto the holiday drive to the coast.
It basically stopped blowing cool air.
During the holiday worked fine.

It has now repeated the same again last week but seems to be fine again.

Could anybody advise as to what the issue could be and a good service centre I could get it checked out.

I am in the Randburg area.

Clutch on the aircon unit could be faulty, thereby not engaging the compressor

When last was it serviced, checked for leaks, etc. Could also be that the gas is running low.

Fixed two of my aircons back in the day. They also would normally refurbish where they can which will save you. I've not been to them in 5 years though as I've had a new car which has only just run out of warranty now.

I have a 2009 Honda CRV, and apparently these models (I'm assuming the Accord will have similar internals) have relatively common A/C problems. I don't recall the specifics right now, but it shouldn't be too difficult to google. My aircon has given me problems twice now, first time it worked intermittently and then stopped working entirely. I took it to Honda and they replaced some sort of relay or fuse and regassed it. It worked well for a few years after that, until recently when it wasn't very cold anymore. My mechanic replaced the fanbelt at the last service which seems to have cleared up the issue.

IIRC these models had weak compressor clutches that could blow and ruin the A/C plumbing.
