Car allowance question

You earn R20,000 per month (before tax). R2500 of that is allocated as a car allowance. What would the benefit of this be?

from what i understand a minor tax relief, however, you will need to keep a log book.
I dont think its worth it, but then again, im just saying that because i hate keeping log books

I do believe the banks will approve vehicle finance easier when they see this on your payslip, not so?
