Car audio - cape town

Any ideas as to who is best in cape town.

The standard system in the car is pretty good in terms of sound quality - at low speed with the windows closed.

The system lacks guts. Bass is lacking. I enjoy a system that is able to produce accurate deep tight bass -boomy and floppy bass is my end.

So i am looking for someone who knows their stuff and does "invisible" work without wrecking the car in the process.

In Tableview there is Loud and Clear, in Wynberg there is Musical Cars and in Maitland its Auto Wizz.

Sounds Dynamic on Klipfontein road (opposite Sportsmans Warehouse) also do a very good job. Had a few friends get systems from them before.

So it turns out not too much can be done without adding a subwoofer / bass unit.

The car has as standard a harman kardon logic7 system which includes a 12 channel digital amplifier. Replacing existing "woofers" with slightly larger ones will not make much difference given the restrictions of current enclosure space.
"Gain control" on the amplifier was adjusted, sounds better - but not quite there.
Looks like i may go with the seperate bass unit + additional amplifier to drive it.

If your car is still under warranty, you will probably void it by installing aftermarket sound. See if the dealer has an approved fitment centre and do it there.

Also bear in mind, alternators and batteries take more strain , and aren't cheap.
