I remember when I bought my car, I just specified 60 months by default - but I see there's a 66 and 72 month options as well. Someone said a residual cannot be had on a 72 month option - how about the 66 month option?

Also noticed that when you go to the FNB vehicle finance page, it doesn't list Wesbank anymore and emails/contact numbers are FNB CAR and FNB vehicle finance. Are they still through Wesbank - meaning I only apply once?

Maybe the email addresses are just that they take care of FNB clients separately, thought they both belong to the same parent company

I'm not exactly sure about that statement. If I remember correctly (and I speak under correction here), when I bought my car in 2010, the initial deal they approved me for, the instalment was under R5000 and when I checked, they had the 72 month option and a res value and I had to ask them to remove the res value.

So I think it is probably possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. After 5 years, you'll probably owe more on the car than what it is worth (depending on the brand you buy).

Thanks guys.

I found out they actually had a special on the car and it's one of those 5.7% jobs which work alright with me
