A car is a massive expense. So unless you plan on using your car to make you money (seeing clients, delivering goods) don't buy one. You do not need it.

I disagree. A car is no longer a luxury.

Its still a luxury and will always remain one. People need to learn to live without cars even in this country. Plenty of reliable public transport (I know, I make use of it to commute 100km safely to work each day)

Except for those pesky job ads listing own transportation as a requirement (for visiting clients and silly stuff like that). For instance, this week I am at the client's office in another city all day late into the night long after public transport isn't an option anymore...

I disagree, it depends on where you live. There is no public transport where I am and bicycle commuting is not an option with the roads in the state they are in.

Its all absa's fault as they make a huge mistake on my bond and they to "windgat" to admit they made a fault.

In this town their is not one "white" taxi..just mini busses...and im kind off gatvol to sit in my room 30 days a month ....

Have to agree here. Same with me, no reliable public transport unless I catch a bus to central JHB. Then walk a good couple of blocks to the taxi rank. Then 2 taxis to work.
Would probably take me 3 hours to get to work (with taxi driving) and cost me way more then driving by car.

Oh. Oh not to mention my wife works on my route and travel with me. Without car, after the bus she would have 2 separate taxis of her own to catch.

I see way more car accidents on the N2 than taxi accidents. But your ignorance is strong to my statement, taxis and Putco buses are not the only means of public transport in this country - come down to the Cape to open up your eyes.

Using a car to generate an income is different as you need to treat as a tool of your trade, an appliance.
