to get approval? sameday if you start early enough.

from application to contract signature? I just did it in 2 when I bought my new bike.

Depends on your finances and credit rating and if you are willing to accept the early interest rates thrown your way.

1-2 days if all ok.

Edit also new or second hand makes a difference I think bearing the above in mind

No different.

From a dealer it should be no different as its much the same paperwork.

From a private could take longer.

As quick as the paperwork(Car clearance, roadworthy, owner sign off, new contracting) is available (assuming you are allowed the credit).
