Car Guards at Centurion

Time for a rant...

I choose to park outside the station as the parking price have just become a little too much. I have been doing this for 6 months now. Now we have car guards in the parking areas who demand you pay them R5 everyday to park there. And if you dont they will damage your car - I have experienced this first hand! Why the hell must these people be there, it is not their property that they must charge us to park there. At the end we must pay them to not damage our cars! WTF!!! if any of you see a car guard getting trashed today, you know who is doing the trashing.

Really considering driving to work now, it will actually work out cheaper than dealing with the Gautrain and the f****n car guards!

Try reporting to Centurion Concerned Citizens, they'll probably have the right contacts (cpf, contacts at SAPS etc) to sort these people out.

Everyone should just refuse to pay and these slugs will move on. Simple as that.

Blame Gautrain for not enough parking and/or poor and few bus routes and then the frequent bus driver strikes.

I very very rarely pay car guards.

I've had one or two tell me that I must pay R10 to park there, my response is always, I will consider giving you R10 when I come back if my car is there and undamaged.... One car guard tried to get me to give him the money to pay for the parking meter, he got very upset with me when I refused and went to pay for parking myself.... thankfully the Metro police were around, so i just walked over to them had a quick word and they went and pretty much told the car guard to sod off.
 
Yes, they are the bane of my life. Because of this, I prefer to shop where I pay for parking, just on principle. I hate it when they watch me from the shade of a tree while I wrestle my trolley into place, hook it into position with the heel of my shoe while scrabbling in the Black Bag of Calcutta for my car keys, heave huge bags of cat litter and washing powder into my car, chase and apprehend the runaway trolley, limp back to my car, get in...then SUDDENLY THEY APPEAR to "assist" me in reversing my car out of the bay (why? I have been driving since I was 18) while holding out their hand for the tip. :mad:
 
I once parked in Greenside on the street, just outside the Payed Parking Bay. The F@cker demanded R10, because the paid parking is R20 and he is giving me a discount.

He went all ape $it on me when I refused, it nearly got ugly.

And this is the reason why I try to shop at Spar, most of them don't have car guards. They should just get rid of all of them, they irritate me beyond any level. Bloody coin-collectors!
 
Car gaurds in Centurion are quite laid back really - those who are paid to be there though.
Just trick the pop-up "car guards" with something witty, they usually bugger off.
 
Such car guards are really unnecessary because they don't have a capacity to compensate in the event a car gets stolen.
