Car Insurance: Cheaper Lockdown alternatives

Firstly, I've spent a few mins searching and didn't see anything like this posted anywhere else.
Quite surprising really, as mybb is usually full of this type of info.

So, what alternatives are there to old school fully comprehensive insurance for cars are there?
Have any of you changed, or tried these pay as you drive options?
I see Hollard and King Price are offering these type of fully comprehensive options. Naked insurance too.
Do you plan to stick to these, or will you go back to normal/expensive car insurance as soon as milage picks up?

What are your thoughts people?
Trying to keep the conversation on fully comprehensive options, and not the 3rd party cover etc as that is another topic on its own.

Happy with Naked so far. Never once had to speak to a boring human for an hour to get cover.

I moved to king prices chilli cover. Its cheaper and if i drive less then 500km per month its even cheaper still. I had to either fit a tracker or agree to send in my odo monthly if i want the low usage discount. Cant comment on how service is as i just started but i'm enjoying the savings so far

yea I've also had a look at a few now.
how about some numbers there guys? how much are you paying? what km's are you doing, and how much do you pay in each km category?

Check for reviews wherever possible before checking for cheaper insurance.
Saving a few bucks might end up hurting you when you need to claim.

I've had a few small claims with Santam and that was pain-free.

Father-in-law had his car (technically mine since insurance and finance was on my name) written off by a taxi just over a week ago and Discovery was very helpful.
Great assistance since I reported the accident and the claim has been approved and finalized.
