Hi All

Does anyone here have the contact details (telephone or e-mail) for the car insurance ombudsman?

Just a question:

Is normal practice for an insurance company to authorize second-hand replacement parts? (doors in my case)

Unless critical safety parts they are fully allowed to do this. Been tested and tried by Ombudsman in the past.
Indemnification, the basis of your policy, is putting you in the same place you were before as you car was not brand new (I take it). Just be sure you are very happy with the repairs before signing the release form at the panel beater. Also ensure they are the same model doors with the handles, electrical etc being the same. Also ensure there is no rust and make 100% sure the windows etc work and there is no wind noise whilst driving.

Yes, they (insurance company) told my that my vehicle were out of warranty.
