Car lights off reminder

So for fun I bought this little kit: https://quasarelectronics.co.uk/Item/velleman-k3505-car-light-warning-alarm-kit
Question though, any idea what the "contact" connection would refer to?

On what car do you plan to mount this/wire into?
I think they refer to the 'contact', as the light switch which switches on the lights? The one where dim/high is?
Or the ignition switch?

Most likely the latter, because if I think about it, if you turn off the car with the key, there is no power going to the circuitry. So, really a simple state machine.

Ignition off & Lights off -> Do nothing
Ignition off & Lights on -> Sound buzzer
Ignition on & Lights on -> Do nothing
Ignition on & Lights off -> Do nothing

Figured the same yeah - oh well, only one way to find out!
From the website:
This Car Head Light Warning Alarm indicator SELF-ASSEMBLY electronic kit may be set for one of two functions. To indicate that the headlights (or the sidelights) should be switched off after switching off the ignition contact (battery protection). Or to indicate that the head lights should be on once ignition contact is switched on (obligatory in some countries).

Ah... RTFM properly from the beginning and don't just skip to the fun stuff I guess.
Guess that's what porn does to you

i would be wary is all, car electronic systems are fancy things these days. most work on a canbus system
My Nissan hardbody isn't all that fancy I'd imagine... Just a big toyota tazz.
