Hey Guys, so today while driving out of our office complex I, like a moron, while checking the traffic failed to realize my car rolling forward, right into the back of a Hilux, into the corner of the bullbar. Now I want to ask you guys that know how much a rough estimate would be? The car is a 1999 Toyota Tazz 1300 and the damage in my opinion is not so bad, having said that I don't now much about cars. The front right headlight cover is shattered with damage to the light housing. The bonnet has a dent just above the light (I reckon that's what broke the light in part) but not too bad with a very small knock in the middle right edge. If possible does anyone know what it would be to replace? I'll try and put up some photos when I have something else than my tablet. Any input is appreciated

Can't speak for the Toyota, but whatever you think it'll cost won't be half of the actual cost.
Just had to replace the back bumper on my car and the cheapest quote was R25k. :(

I thought as much. I'l do it through the insurance if it's more than the excess, which I am pretty sure it will be.

Definitely going to be more than the excess.

You need to report it to your insurance, regardless whether or not you plan to claim against it or not.

If the bonnet needs to be replaced it will be R7000 at the very least.

Yeah I am going to report it at a police station tomorrow morning. At least it's in driving order

someone drove into the back of my old car (1995 Honda Ballade) and the bumper and boot were dented, not too bad, but unsightly.

Car is fully insured, but they wanted to write the car off because the damage was more than 50% of the book value of the vehicle. Can you believe that sheize!!! We talking R12 000 damage. (if the boot and bumper were replaced, sprayed and fitted with genuine Honda parts)

So just be careful.

Thanks for the input. My car is also fully insured (thank god) and I have a relatively low excess amount. So I will go through the insurance. Although getting a rental while its in shop is gonna be a pain, what can a man do. Thanks for the input guys.

a bonnet, bumper, head lights and spray job will cost you 6500

parts alone are 1500

my friend knocked into someone that jumped a stop ..and that was the cost of doing up the car

if you on your way back from the moon and decide to stop in CPT you can pm me if you this side and i can give you details

An old lady knocked the back of my Audi a few months ago. To replace and spray the rear bumper skin with diffuser only, cheapest quote was R10200.
Being a 3rd party claim her insurance paid me directly(After waiting nearly 3 months).
I did the whole job for under R3k.

Found a good 2nd hand bumper and diffuser. Son in law is a spray painter, so hardly any cost for me.
