I've recently taken my Citroen C3 to the mechanic a few blocks done from me due to overheating problems. I knew that the radiator fan wasn't turning on as well as a few other problems, so I decided that I'd take it to a mechanic who worked on european cars and who wasn't the main dealer.
Was a fantastic guy, was very reasonable in prices and said he would do anything to get my car fixed. However the next day I got a call from an electrician across the road from the mechanic telling me the mechanic brought it to him becuse they saw that the problem was electrical. He told me the radiator fan will need replacing and the part by itself would cost R3000, which is believable because it's Citroen.
What shocked me, is that they're quoting me R9000 to put it in and rewire it. Am i being unrealistic when I think that this is insane? I'm thinking of going to fetch it and take it somewhere else for another quote, the only problem being the overheating I don't think my car would get very far. Also I think it might look a bit snobbish that they are doing me a favour but I suspect that they're trying to crook me, as my grandfather who is a mechanic suggests
