Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good reasonable place that offers seat covers and/or boot liners/mats in Cape Town?
I just bought a new car and it has leather seats and want to protect them from my dog (min pin) who also has trouble with them because she has no traction and slides all over the place :D:D

A colleague mentioned House of Henry so I got a quote from them - link
I don't know how much seat covers normally go for so don't know if they reasonable or not.

Any advice would be appreciated...
Thanks

Check in Kenilworth Access Park can't remember the name of the place but there is a place that makes custom covers, you can choose your material and they fit it as well.

seat covers won't last with a dog in the car. Look at getting canvas covers like they do for 4x4's.

Ok I'll see if I can find them... do you know if they reasonable?

Who makes them?

Try your local Safari Center - they should also be available via your local dealer's spares department.

But they'll be a universal fit right? Not a custom fit to fit my cars specific seats...

We bought a "hammock" type of a thing from mr price for about R200. Basically it's canvassy and has 4 straps with clips that you hook around the front and read headrests so it forms a bit of a U on the back seats. Benefit is they can't jump into the front, doesn't scratch the seats etc and also can't fall down into the footwell. Protects them a bit in case you need to do an emergency stop etc. Only issue really is that the doors are still unprotected so depending on the dog and the car they might want to jump up to look out the window still.

Edit: Um, like this: http://www.carseatcovers.co.za/index.php/seat-covers/dog-hammock (a picture says 1000 words)

Yea, I saw those as well but I don't know if that would work for me... My dog likes to move from the front to the back and look out the windows. My old car, Citi Golf, had a nice back shelf she could stand on and she would stay there mostly but the Volvo doesn't have one...

I use this and it works really well

Edit: Its really not safe for your dog to move from the front to the back while the car is moving. Its much safer for them to stay on the backseat

That would be fine for a big dog but my dog is a small min pin. Also when you have that hammock on then no-one can sit in the back, which is why I'd prefer seat covers...

Care to elaborate?

Please don't tell me you're having a sense of humour failure....

If I have to elaborate - I first of all thought you were bundu bashing with your dog and your bakkie and I suggested canvas from a Safari center....then I found out that you were driving an Ovlov, so I said Oh Dear....does that help?? :)

Oh ok, well now that that's cleared up... any recommendations or do you still recommend universal fit Safari center covers?

@op the place I mentioned does it in vinyl as well, custom fit to your seats, try and google the name.
