I lost my car keys (Golf). So I called some people to remove my gearlock, deactivate my immobilizer and to replace the locks. So I was wondering how much it would cost to replace the Immobilizer and Gearlock? I'm in jhb so preferably a place near me. Or does someone maybe know of a cheaper alternative?

Gearlock is a piece of old tacky to replace and really not a deterrent to anyone wanting to swipe your car.

The VW immobilizer is factory fitted if the Golf is newer than a 1988 model - any competent fitment centre should be able to sort both out. Personally I wouldn't waste my money on the gearlock.

Mazda was sold mid January...I am happily in a Polo again!

I have no idea...too many variables on this one. Just to sort out the immobilizer shouldn't be more than a couple of hundred rand.
