I have a new-to-me 2008 Corsa bakkie needing a service (90 000km). My first car in 20 years (got 2 bikes).
Any suggestions of mechanic/shop in Cape Town? I'm near city centre...

I'm wary of big-companies that just change every item regardless of wear, and charge premiums when only appies work on it.
I'm also wary of too-small concerns who may not have the tools/spares and thus require days/weeks of sitting in the shop.
I just want the rare honest oke who tells you what's wrong now and what can wait, and if you're a kak driver/owner based on wear (LOL).

Why not just it yourself?
The most difficult thing you will ever need to do is change a cam belt(Engine mount is in the way) and you need nothing more than a jack, 2 jackstands, a decent tool set and the manual on how to set engine tiing and how to set the belt tensioner, everything else is straight forward.

The guy i know is based in Bothasig though - decent guy, taught me a lot too.

A service is such an open ended term, what exactly needs to be done with this service? That's how you determine whether to take it to a big company or a small one. But it's a Corsa not a complicated piece of machinery, I would take it anywhere.
