Car Sound for Nephew recommendations / help

Hi All,

My nephew has turned 18 and wants some car sound.
I have a budget around 6k for him, which likely wont go far but at least its a start.
He has nothing really useful currently so it is basically starting from scratch

I was thinking head unit, some splits and mids and he can build on from there, however I know precisely squat about these things.

Any recommendations and recommendations on where I can buy and get installed in the JHB, pref North suburbs area

4 x mids for doors + 2/4 channel amp
wiring etc
What vehicle is it?

I agree with this and Suli's work is great! Current special he has going and that is within budget:

Blaupunkt Split System
Kicker 10" Sub
Cabling and Basic Install

I think its a fairly old Kia cerato
Any particular brand? Would that all be done with installation at that cost?

No, id say take it to a shop and just have it done correctly.

maybe you could find a decent used amp to reduce costs a little.
but probably will need to up the purse a biiit

This is very worth the price and +1 to Suli's work being top notch.

That being said, what is your nephews end goal for the system, sound quality, SPL competitions or a loud musical car?

The above system will be more for sound quality.
 
In the front doors and pillar, put these for R1050.
Get this pioneer 4 channel for R1350, use front channels for above splits, and bridge rear channels for this kicker at R995.
You'll need a box at R350, and some cabling at R450.
R 4200 down so far, and budget around R1200 for installation at legit place. R5400 all in, and you got good sound. if you want, double up on the subs, those splits will still keep up with 2 12s.

Trust me instillation will not be anywhere near R1200, guys charge an arm and a leg these days!

lol had a lightie with a brand new range rover sport svr wanting to dice me.Sounded like his voice still had not broken :X3:.he then asks me how much power iam pushing , tell him 200wkw ,then he has the cheek to say i have a slow car.

Serious?? Back in the day when I wanted sound I use to go to a sound place and hand over R300 for amp install with fronts.. what they charging these days???

Depending were you go from around R500 per hour.
