Opel Tigra/ Opel Astra Convertible thoughts?

Don't just say "Don't buy Opel" cause my first two cars were opels n I like em- any thoughts on these specific cars.

Will be buying 2007 or newer

If you do work for a bank, prime -1 is kinda crappy.
I know a guy, who got prime -3. He works for standard bank.

I like Corsa/Astra OPC... but want CONVERTIBLE - and next person thats says mx5 will get beaten with a stick - I want electronic hard top.

I work for the green bank and get prime -4

The lowest that the green bank can offer staff is the FBT rate - which is most often prime - 2.5.

So if you have any tips on getting prime - 4 do share!

I have also had my eye on a few Tigras lately. Looking for something to replace my Astra with seeing as its pretty close to 200,000km on the clock.

If you can try to avoid the Tigra 1.4 as it uses an older less efficient 1.4 engine. Astra Convertible is an excellent choice and the Astra H is a very solid car.

Yeah I heard you must get the Tigra 1.8 as the 1.4 is really sluggish.

I have to admit I read the astra twintop convertible is the better quality car but I think the Tigra is the better looking car

Astra H is the shape before the new one.

I agree with you on the looks, Tigra looks really sexy. Pity they have not made a new one based on the Corsa D. Mind you, if it was about looks only I'd probably go after the Astra G OPC or Coupe.

I think the newer Corsa OPC's look quite nice too- meh I have no idea - now I am looking at the mini cooper s again lol. Astra G = GTC?

Astra G (1998~2004) is the one before the Astra H. See, where VW still counts in numbers (Golf is currently at 6) Opel counts in letters, so Corsa is currently at D (mk4) and Astra is currently at J (mk9, they skipped over I).
