Hey guys

Does anyone know of any APIs (or even CSVs) I can use to get a reliable figure of a car's selling value?

The closest thing I can find is TransUnion's dealer guide and it sounds like it can only be viewed online through their portal. The person I spoke to didn't sound too sure. It's also about R5k upfront for a year which I wouldn't mind paying for an API or CSV.

Thanks

I'm sure they have an API you could use. Maybe make contact with someone like dealersonline.co.za or webuycars and ask if it's possible to integrate their valuations as an API for the app you've doing?

I highly doubt they allow the resell of their data via third parties. But, you can give them a call. Will be interesting to hear what they say.

If you resell it as a 3rd party, then yes, it's not allowed. But if you use their data for your own application to allow your own customers to do lookups/searches, it's allowed, because you're not charging someone to use the data you just purchased from someone else, you're providing a service that person (might) be paying for to use your app/service.

If your app provides access to their API, and you sell that app as a whitelabelled app that they can, in turn, use to do whatever, the person who bought the app from you, has to acquire their own API/license agreement with the provider first
