Is there a place where one can get a car's value online. Like buy sell resell, etc. The motor salesman's bible.

I'm not sure if that information is available online. Usually, only dealers get that info.
If you want to query about a single car, you get can the report from TransUnion. It is R10.00 and provides very useful information, such as purchase history, number of queries on the car, was it ever stolen, and even the trade in and retail value.

It's not available on line - best is to go tyo a dealer and hope that he's in a good mood, and tell you what your car is worth.

Book values vary widely, so be prepared for a shock or two.

Phone an insurance broker. They usually have the Motor Dealers Guide. Pretend you want to take out some cover

Just ask the salesman, he has the book in his drawer. End of thread. By the way, get the swift. Its awesome.

I have the books at work (using it for a clients mobi site) and the formulae you need to use involves:
* Kilos (range consists hi and low km)
* Condition (this is the dealers discretion)
* Year

Just as a point of interest, the dealers don't even glance at those formulae.

I love that Book-Value site...

Makes me feel good about buying my car 4 years ago... its worth more now, than it was when I bought it :D
