Any archery shop. They come in like 1.5m pieces & they've got the equipment needed to cut them for you. (You can't cut it yourself...it'll splinter & be a mess)

Thanks, I was actually thinking of contacting the local archery club tomorrow and asking them as I couldnt find any local bow & arrow shops on the internet...

Just google Durban archery range...it'll be easier to locate a range than a shop that can cut the arrows so I'd hunt down a range and ask the people there where they get their arrows (if the range doesn't have a shop attached to it)

Won't be cheap though...like 80ish a pop.

They'll also be able to provide some nice aluminium arrow shafts too if thats relevant to whatever you're build. Or even carbon fibre bonded to alu core

They also come in various degrees of stiffness & weight so maybe research it to work out what'll be best for your purpose

Its actually for a model RC plane that I'm building but all the hobby shops dont have stock of 8mm rods at the moment so now I'm trying alternative source.

I would normally pay around R100 for a 750mm length so that price sounds about right...

You can probably ask them for off-cuts if you just need a small piece. Would be sub 30cm though

The number on Google for the archery range is no longer valid but I managed to get hold of Rick at "Bow Pro & Outdoors" and hes got plenty of what I need, will pay him a visit tomorrow as they're only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays...

That would work too. I doubt anything will come close to compound bow arrows though strength wise.

I mean theres videos out there where they moer those things into solid concrete blocks at 350km/h+ and they don't break. (https://youtu.be/TNctHsLQzVY from sec 23 onwards)
