Does card brands make a real Difference for example.

I look at the 8800gts 640 and there are like a few manufacturers but with different prices.

Gainward Bliss 8800GTS 640MB DVI-DVI

XFX 8800GTS 640MB DVI-DVI

ASUS Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS, 640MB, 256bit DDR3 (HDTV+2xDVI+Dual

Sparkle Nvidia® GeForce™ PCI-Express Display Adapter - 8800GTS 640MB DDR3 320Bit PCI-E 16x

They all pretty much the same price with a differ of 3 or R4OO rand. Is any better than the other.

Please educate me on this.

nope 8800 does not matter buy the cheapest look for biostar

i saw a 8800gtx the other day at sahara for 4953 ex vat

All of those are the same, you do get some however that are factory overclocked & better cooling. Go for the one with the best local support, I had trouble replacing my gainward.

Most the times they just overclock it a little and send them on their way but I remember I had a XFX 7800gtx 256mb & my friend has a sparkle 7800gtx 256 & my other friend has a Gainward 7800gtx 256mb & they are all practically identical, almost no difference, obviously things like our cpus, ram etc would come into play but you get the point :)

yeah don't xfx normally overclock theirs. though you can do it yourself theirs comes with the warranty.

There's no difference with the different brands except maybe for the Gainward golden sample ones. As far as I understand those are specifically selected and are better overclockers. the rest no difference. Unless you want to pay more for a factory overclocked card when you can do the same with ati tool and the factory clocked ones won't over clocked further then the normal ones.

8800 gts /gtx cards are all produced by nvidia directly .then each are packaged by several brands supplier eg .asus etc they are basically the same card but with different packages and frills added

Yeah. Actually Asus was the contract manufacturer for all now I thin it's Foxconn would have to confirm though.
