Hey folks,

I've obtained one of these 50-in-1 card readers - the unit connects via usb..
from corex.

Now - I have a 4gb SD transcend card -

now the problem:

in my asus a8n-sli-premium mobo - either usb rear or front - this solution just doesn't work...the drive letters pick up - but the moment u try to format the thing or copy data to/from - it either stops /is very slow / aborts.

when u utilize another flash media like usb drives - or external hdds on that usb ports of the pc - its perfectly fine.

now: if u take that cardreader and its usb cable to another pc , it works 100% fine..upload and download....

so i'm outta ideas what could be the prob.

tested the 4 rear ports and front 2 - exact same result - but only trouble with this cardreader - any other device works - but like i said - on any other pc - it works....

2cents?

USB port drivers? Try to see if there isn't an update available for your USB ports.

Check Device Manager for any conflicts.
Make sure BIOS settings are correct and that all required USB settings are enabled in the BIOS.

What OS are you running? ;)

well - on this machine i have vista ultimate

-no conflicts in "device manager"
-i have done bios resets - no diff
-i have done bios upgrades - no diff

on the other i have a mixture of xp pro and 1 with vista business
