Carte Blanche complaint dismissed

Took my cat to fourways she was vomiting are something funny. They kept her overnight cost me R 3 500
the most expensive vet and CB were dead right in their show.
They are probably the most expensive vet. Oh and they found nothing wrong with her

We were actually warned about Fourways and Bryanston vets by two other vets, apparently they are notorious for high pricing.

Not sure about Bryanston but Fourways is a complete rip off. I even mailed them complaining about the cost. They could not care.
Did you see how cocky the owner was on that CB episode?

Change your vet.

I have no problem with our local vets & don't find them exorbitant, nice bunch as well.

You get what I mean. My dogs are my Pets. They not just outside in the rain and get water and food daily. They are loved members of the family.

Pitbulls, part of the family?!!?...ok sure...maybe.... until one day their heads go and they rip your actual human families heads of lol. Seriously,I don't mind dogs even big breeds are cool but Pitbulls are just too unpredictable in the long run and many have turned on their owners with devastating results.

Keep those psychos outside if you have to even keep them at all.

I don't even...another victim of anti-pitbull hysteria.

They are very loving dogs. I have always been a firm believer of a dog being the end result of how he/she is raised. I have 4 kids in my house Pits jump on the beds with the twins now 5 and sleep with them. I have never had any agro issues with any of them or the 2 I had before. I will never and shall never support this breed being trained. As they are very aggressive and temperamental dogs if they are trained.

Just love them and they will love you back :)

I don't normally go to Fourways, but last night I had to at 21:30.

Cat was just 'ill' ... sitting alone outside in the cold, no purring or meowing, didn't like to be touched etc - but as this cat had to large hernia ops a few years back from unknown trauma, I decided to take her straight away as opposed to waiting.

R5,000 for the consult, keeping overnight, Xray and ultrasound ... which I do feel is expensive. I was expecting half that, tbh

Because you took your cat to Fourways, they are the ones mentioned over and over as being expensive. The vet we take our Boston too in Strubensvalley is pretty reasonable, she's had a few ops and he fixed her broken foot and it didn't even total R5000 with a few visits. One visit to a vet in Oakdene in 2014 where she broke her foot was R1400, but they did manage to put a caste on and get her prepped for her own vet.

It was 21.30 at night and a possible emergency - I wouldn't go there as a standard. I'm knew they were expensive - just didn't quite realise R5k

That s excessive.
Depends on the vet, I suppose. remember they sometimes charge after hours fees.

Valley Farm Hospital in Pretoria is equally expensive but it's the only true 24/7 facility in the city.

I don't think Vet fees are out of line. A vet is like a doctor who specializes in animals. And not 1 sort of animal but multiple species and sizes. Why should a vet be paid less for operating on a dog instead of a human? You need the same if not a better degree and experience. I think some vets are better than some doctors.

But the private medical field is also very much unregulated.

You pay R500 for 15 minutes just to get pills for sinus or flu.

Details of vet on Strubensvalley?
