Our water is basically on the brink of disaster. According to Carte Blanche, and I stand to be corrected, we are going to run out of water by 2013.
The quality at farms is killing animals. Shocking stuff.

They are saying small towns are in big trouble.

city water is safe that which comes from rand water, but the issue being that the sand river is being polluted due to the failing renewal system in that area, this leads to the vaal river, killing our wild live , and polluting everyone's tap water who uses it, unless it is cleaned by a nice facility, basically you have no idea on what you are drinking. you should have seen those facilities. and the minister of water as suspected thinks everything is in order >_<

Our GVT ministers should all be in jail for misleading the public for years and raping this country. In the end there will be nothing left. I fear that end will be here sooner than we think.

I found it particularly funny (I know this is no laughing matter) when Bongani (condolences to him and his family btw) opened a question with "Scientists and Engineers have told us that..." and her response to the question was "The media this and that..." What a tool she is.

Yes, that green stuff (due to eutrophication) in the river was absolutely disgusting. It was extremely thick, and the powered boat even had trouble going through all the slime. The water is still safe [although for how much longer, one can only guess] for people in urban areas. It's the rural areas that are having to deal with this problem at the moment. Where is good old Lancelot when you need him?

I also found it funny how the Minister said there was 'no crisis'. She is copying from the Thabo Mbeki School of Denial. Deny everything and hope the problem magically disappears  (The African style of government).

the incompetence of the ANC knows no boundaries, and yet there are idiots who believe that they have the ability to bring a light into democracy, only thing they are good at and have always been is destroying our environment, corrupting our government and destroying some of the best worked out systems due to their stupidity.

a high price to pay for freedom?

amazing....and to think these idiots are going to be voted most probably into pwoer again by the uneducated masses. Its sad to think that instead of building the infrastructure they promised to the masses they are rather spending they're time breaking down and neglecting the existing infrastructure...Niew Zealand is starting to look all the more promising

NZL got crappy weather! the problem with democracy in africa is that the majority votes don't have a clue what a election is about.

I don't buy it. They're always sensationalising these things to keep ratings up (whether it be a TV program, newspaper etc.). According to the media the world is always 'on the brink of disaster. SSDD.

That too. Or their predictions will happen in 2020, when we won't even remember who made them

They weren't wrong about Eiskom, so what would make them wrong about this?

With regard to Eskom, I have not had a load shedding incident for approximately 9 months. It was conveyed via the media that this was going to be a problem until 2013 or some date like that.

I would say you have to take ANY story with a pinch of salt. Carte Blanch work off people's ignorance, speculation and editing.

I am not denying there is a problem, in fact I am convinced there is a problem - however there is time to resolve that problem, and I always get the impression that our government sees these criticisms as an attack on them and not the problem.

Much like another place I know.
