I use that crack-film/membrane you paint onto for cracks and tops of parapet walls/roofs - can't remember the name, but you can get it in rolls at any hardware store. It's usually white and comes in either 15cm, 30cm or 60cm widths - works really well as it's bound loose enough to let enough air through and tight enough to stop 90% of the dust. and it's really cheap! Been using it for years and change it every few months. the roll I'm on now has lasted at least 4 years so far.
