Ok so I installed a nice new R200.00 Zalman ZM-F3 LED fan on my case (supposed to be around 20dba) but it sounds like someone is reving a jet engine or something...
Now before i installed it i plugged it in and switched on the PC to make sure it was venting in the correct direction.. no problems at all, ran nice and quiet... but once i installed it on my case, then it became to loud to handle. I figured this is because all the air is now being pulled at such a high velocity through the tiny slits in the case window. Im using an Aerocool Massitage-A Chassis.
I figured since the fan is connected with a 3-pin to my MOBO so there should be no problems with adjusting the speed. I went into my BIOS to do some alterations to the speeds but all my stupid BIOS does is tell me how fast its running and wont let me change that... And its running close to 2600rpm which is rediculous...
I then installed SpeedFan... and it wont change the speed either... then MSI DuleCore Center for the hell of it... no avail.. Im thinking I might have to take a drill and make the damn fan holes bigger... and I really don't only want to look at that as an Extremely Final resort...
Any advice people? Much appreciated!
