Hi all,

I have some cash lying around that I would like to use to purchase something online with. If the company I purchase from has an account at say, standard bank, do I just go to the nearest standard bank branch and do a cash deposit into their account or is it not that simple? FYI: I do not have an account at standard bank.

Many thanks!

You need to buy a black leather briefcase, then you arrange the notes in neat piles of R10k. Dress in a trenchcoat and get yourself some dark glasses. Walk into the shop you wanna buy from, hand over the case and just nod. They will know what to do.

Check out the FAQ on payment option on the website.

We do accept payment by direct deposit, so you don't need a credit card. Once you've placed your order, just press the [Pay by direct deposit] button and you will get all the information that you need to make the payment. You don't need to fax the deposit slip - just specify your order number as a reference when making the deposit and we will assign the money to your order as soon as it appears on our statement. This usually takes a day or two, and you will receive an automated email confirmation once we have it.

You can even do it at an atm, some of them accept deposits.

Older ones use envelopes, only restriction is getting the envelope to fit in the slot, 60 notes can be done though they advise 50.

Newer machines scan notes individually. Make sure that notes are in a decent condition and not folded. The slot should take 50 notes, though new machines can take 100, not sure if SB has them yet.

Bargain with the company first. If you make a cash deposit they pay fees. Sometimes they will give you a discount to avoid this
