Caster takes gold

All three medal winners are very muscular and "manly" so I don't know why there is such a big controversy around Caster's head.

Congrats to her, she won that fair and square.

There are 5 other female athletes with similar elevated testosterone levels competing, in addition to Semenya, one being India's Dutee Chand, who was responsible for overturning the IAAF's ruling on testosterone levels limits imposed onto female athletes. I wish the names of the other 4 would also be made known so that the situation is de-personalised off Semenya.

I am seeing very little attention focused on Dutee Chand and the fact that her 100m time ranked 50 out of 64 at Rio 2016.

Limpopo - Caster Semenya's grandmother hopes her granddaughter's Olympic gold medal in Rio earlier this morning will finally put all the naysayer's opinions to bed.

"It goes without saying that Mokgadi (referring to Caster) is simply amazing. Her win just proved once again that you can't put a good person down, no matter how hard you try," said 88-year-old Mmaputi Sekgala.

She was one of the millions of South Africans who woke up in the early hours of this morning to witness Semenya display a stellar performance in the 800m women's finals.

The grandma was joined by her grandson Kgabo Sekgala and his wife Makoena Sekgala as well as their four children in huddling around a small TV to watch the nation's heroine in action.

The fact that Caster has testes is the focus of the controversy.

Caster won fair and square within the rules as they stand now.

Her high testosterone levels are a natural part of her physiology. Bolt's long legs are a natural part of his, they both give benefits in their respective disciplines, why is one regarded as being less fair?
