Casting from a Windows 10 PC to multiple Smart TV's - Yes or No?

As per the title, I want to cast different media to multiple Samsung Smart TV's in different locations in a building.

Planning to use a setup as follows:

10 X Samsung Smart TV's all networked via CAT 6 Cabling to a layer 3 switch.
1 X I7 Windows 10 Pro PC, connected via Ethernet to the same switch.

Anyone have any clue as to what limitations i'm in for?
Media to be streamed / casted onto these TV's will vary from PowerPoint presentations to video files / image files.


Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
 
Well the first limitation would be does the TV directly support casting to it?

Or would you need a third party tool to achieve that?
 
All TV's are brand new Samsung 48" Smart TV's, and they do support casting
 
Plex perhaps, not casting but does support multiple streams at once of different files or same one.
 
I suspect it might be one of those "not right now" or not without third party help anyway.

But with Apple doing this with Airplay 2 protocol I'm quite sure Microsoft won't be far behind.

Oh wait you say DIFFERENT media to each TV. That might be easier especially as pointed out above with Plex if you were to say open multiple browser sessions and point each one to a different TV.

Natively I'm not sure, but with different application sources/instances I would imagine it should be possible?

The generic response rather points to casting to multiple devices, not necessarily at the same time. In fact the second line says exactly that in that they can't do it simultaneously either.

But since you don't want to do 1 Source > Many Destinations but rather Many Sources > Many Destinations this might change the game somewhat.

Should be easy enough to test if you have two or more devices to cast to. Beyond two it should operate the same.
 
I guess the question becomes, what app on the Windows PC supports effectively 10 different desktops, that you could have a video running on one, and a Powerpoint on another, and something else on a third, and then you can start looking for something that can stream the desktops to each TV.

My 2c, I'd be interested to hear the solution that you come up with.

I suspect that the "easiest" option may be to convert your powerpoints or whatever else you want to display to a movie file via screen recording, or similar, and then the problem devolves into streaming the right movie to the right screen.

I would say if you can convert them to video you can use Plex.

Plex Media Server on the PC and the Plex app on each TV.
 
You can use software called "Monitors anywhere" and zero clients attached to each screen to do this.

209 pounds per device, plus shipping, customs and all the other hassles.....
I'd rather use plex

The Chromecast is in this case your tv's built in feature, yes?
