Catalunya vs Argentina

Catalunya plays once a year.

Reminds me of a few years back when i was at Camp Nou. Its a pretty big event in Barcelona. There were some concerns this season that the stadium wont be as full as recent years.

Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pique, Bojan, Valdes etc are called up to play. Wenger did not want to release Cesc for the game.

Johan Cruyff is the coach this season.
 
ya well wenger does not have much options with RVP out till the end of the season he does not want to risk his only decent player for a friendly...

I agree. After that malicious foul resulting in RVP's injury, Wenger can easily justify safeguarding his uninjured talent. I don't like seeing teams get wrecked by injuries, even Arsenal (I'm a Hammers fan :p)

Ya sad if the best players are going to get injured before the WC or won't recover in time for the WC...

Imagine, last 2 weeks before the end of the season and Rooney, Messi, Ronaldo, ***a, Ineista, Xavi, Torres, Villa, Fabiano, etc all get injured... would be a sad!

Not only that but all the other leagues are on holiday this time of year, the EPL plays on, this would be an completely unnecessary fixture for Cesc in an already congested period
 
Cesc is injured anyway, wouldn't have been able to play. Good result for Catalunya, but Argentina were missing Messi as well as Tevez and Mascherano (their PL clubs didn't release them).
 
City need Tevez to be rested too. The Christmas fixtures are a bit intense actually. But you cant really feel sorry for people who make one hundred thousand plus pounds a week :D.
 
fek if I earned 100k a week I'd give my left and right nut just to play every match :D
 
52 weeks in a year... if you play 40 of those weeks... 4mill quid a year!
 
And Messi gets 200 thousand pounds a week! On top of that he gets Appearance fee bonuses, goal bonuses, League bonuses and cup bonuses. I'd assume Ronaldo makes even more than that.
