Is it possible to get this outside of a restaurant?

Pretty much everything I've seen in SA was imitation caviar.

But yeah I'd imagine you can get the real deal if you're willing to drop a grand or two for a small jar.

Is that from the Sandton Sturgeon ?

Oh and by the way...I Googled it and found places within seconds...

A lot of the times people ask questions like these just to get a conversation going.

Is that it? Do you want people to ask you a lot of questions re. this "caviar quest" of yours?

I’m not a big fan of it.

the beluga sturgeon in the Caspian sea has been hunted to near extinction for the eggs

I saw 2 different kinds of Sturgeon Caviar at the Pick N Pay in Douglasdale yesterday. No Beluga obviously.

Really?

All the sturgeon stuff is somewhere in the ~500 ZAR per 10 gram range from what I've seen. Would be very surprised if PnP puts something with that value vs easy of shoplifting on it's shelves.

The sturgeons all have the same issue - they grow slowly.
